The following trees were generated using a Mozilla trunk build from Mon Jun 18 16:30:34 PDT 2007, with new textframe enabled and a bunch of my own patches in the tree. They were generated by diffing memory dumps using diffbloatdump.pl which diffs memory dumps created by entering javascript:NSTraceMallocDumpAllocations("/path/to/log/file") in the URL bar of a Mozilla build compiled with --enable-trace-malloc and run using --trace-malloc=/dev/null. They were run on a clean profile. They show allocations based on a tree of the allocation stacks.

• the allocations needed to bring up an empty browser window
• the additional allocations, after bringing up an empty browser window, needed to bring up a total of three browser windows and ten tabs. 8 of the tabs were in one of the three windows. Note that adding tabs loads an additional font, since the active tab label is in a bold font (so this log shows the memory for loading the second font, whereas the previous log shows the memory for loading the first font).
• the additional allocations, after brining up an empty browser window, needed to load gmail (when already logged in in the profile)
